A newly-formed girls rugby teams has recorded its first win.
Richmondshire RFC U15s beat Hartlepool 52-30 away on Sunday.
The team only came together late last year and it was only there second game after they lost Bishop Auckland a fortnight ago.
Coach/manager Gary ‘Porky’ Howell said he was very proud to watch the team come together and put in a performance like that in such a short space of time.
“We are always looking for players that have never played rugby before or have played before
“We also have an u13 girls team so if any girls from school years 7 to 10 want to have a go please do and come join the fastest growing team in the area.
“Less then two years ago we had three girls and now we have 26 girls across both teams.”
The teams train on a Friday night and Sunday mornings with games and festivals on Sundays.
