Two new grant schemes have opened for applications by Richmondshire businesses today.
The restart grants will help local businesses in the non-essential retail, hospitality, leisure, personal care and accommodation sectors.
They will provide a one-off sum to support the costs of reopening safely as covid19 restrictions are lifted.
The grants, which are being administered by the district council on behalf of the Government, have two sets of eligibility criteria:
- Strand One: a one-off payment of up to £6,000 for business ratepayers offering in-person services and whose business is non-essential retail
- Strand Two: a one-off payment of up to £18,000 for business ratepayers offering in-person services and whose business is in hospitality, leisure, accommodation, personal care, gym or sport
The application process is available through richmondshire.gov.uk with the amount paid based on the rateable value of the property.
For businesses that are not business ratepayers, and therefore not eligible for this restart grant, there is an additional restrictions grant scheme.
Officials say details on how to apply for this will be released later this week.
