Plans for nine new business units in Leyburn have been submitted.

A planning application for two buildings in Badger Court, off Harmby Road, has been submitted.

One building would include three individual industrial units, while the other would have six smaller units.

All buildings would have a mix of light industrial and storage and distribution uses, with office and WC facilities incorporated within the layout of the proposed buildings.

Leyburn Town Council said it had no objections to the scheme but felt that for the number of units that were proposed, the parking would not be adequate.

The council also felt that following the flooding in the town, more consideration needed to be given to the water outlet/surface drainage.

Richmondshire District Council planning department will recommend the plans are approved by councillors when they meet next Tuesday.

Their report concluded: “The proposed development will provide business units that will contribute to the local economy and provide additional employment.

“The proposed development will have an acceptable relationship with regards to residential properties and other businesses within the vicinity of the application site, maintaining good levels of amenity.

“Sustainable drainage can be achieved for the development and the proposed development will not lead to increase flood risk on or off the site.”

  1. How can residential properties have any acceptable relationship with business industrial units?
Is the statement copied from a RDC template of gobbledegook?

  2. We have seen no notification of this development. We live next to it !!!! They were supposed to do landscaping with last development and nothing has been done !!!??
