A new library has been officially opened at a Catterick Garrison library school.
The facility is part of a new extension at Le Cateau Primary School, which also includes three new classrooms for year six students.
Parents were invited in to the school on Friday to see the new building and mark its opening.
This story continues after the adverts:
Jo Attrill, the school’s English leader, said:”It’s a fantastic resource for us.
“This gives us loads more space and makes it much easier to take whole classes into the library.”
New junior librarians have been appointed to look after the library.
One of the libraries, Evie Lerigo, said: “It’s so big and there’s loads of room so you can come and do things in it – it’s much better than we had before.”
Also attending the opening were the school’s new reading patrons, children’s author Karen Langtree and illustrator Gill McLean, who will be working with the school to help boost reading and writing.
