New litter bins are being installed in Richmondshire.
The move is part of a three-year district council led programme to replace or refurbish all litter and dog bins in the district.
Richmond town centre now has 11 revamped and new bins – all with cigarette disposal dispensers and bird flaps to prevent waste from being removed.
Council Leader, Councillor Yvonne Peacock said: “This £15,000 project will see all the bins in the district either replaced or revamped – giving people no reason to drop their litter or cigarettes in the street.
“Their design also means the birds cannot get into them and create mess – so keeping our towns clean and tidy.”
