New netball group launches in Catterick Garrison

New netball sessions are being launched in Catterick Garrison as part of a nationwide scheme.

The Back to Netball sessions take place at Catterick Leisure Centre from 6pm to 7pm on a Tuesday evening.

Jody Ivel, from England Netball’s North Yorkshire netball development officer, said: “Back to Netball sessions are running across England and provide women of all ages with a gentle re-introduction to the sport.

This story continues after the adverts:

“Run by passionate and enthusiastic coaches, sessions cover the basics of the game including passing, footwork and shooting.

Sessions finish with a friendly game to put the skills you have learnt into practice.”

Jody added: “There is no competition as such but we organise Back to Netball tournaments a few times a year where those who want to compete can.

“Those looking for more competitive netball are signposted to local clubs where they can play in leagues.”

The sessions cost £3.50 and are open to women aged over 14.
