Kerry Robson and partner Dan Johnson.

A young businesswoman has taken over a Richmond cafe and bistro.

Kerry Robson, 24, is running Barretts, in Rosemary Lane, with partner Dan Johnson, 32.

Kerry, who is from Richmond,  said: “I worked in a kitchen for two years and I really just fancied doing something for my self that I knew I was good at.

“My partner Dan is a local driving instructor. He owns his own driving school called D.J’s Driver Training so we both have our own thing now.

“He will also help me with the accounts side of the business.”

Kerry says she intends to change the name at some as she wants t put her own stamnp on the place.

However, she added: “I’m keeping a lot of the menu the same as I know the customers love the menu how it is.

“I’m just adding my own bits gradually. I also love the cosy feel so I have some plans to make a cosy area at the front entrance of the cafe for wine and nibbles and such.”

Barretts will be open 10am to 2.30pm on Wednesday to Saturday, and then from 5pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday for night time service.
