A Richmond insurance company is under new ownership following a retirement.
Malton-based McClarrons has taken over King Street company B E Thompson & Co Ltd.
Peter Thompson, Director at B E Thompson & Co Ltd, said: “After 64 years of trading and with my reaching the age of 70, I have finally decided to hang up my boots, and retire.

“In addition, our lovely and thriving town of Richmond will benefit from further employment opportunities.”
McClarrons say they employ staff from within the broker’s specialist sectors to ensure clients are offered the most accurate advice possible.
The team already has two account executives, Chris Clement and Jade Pringle, who service Richmond and the North East remotely but th company has now expanded with the new office in the centre of Richmond.
McClarrons is an independent insurance brokers specialising in rural, property owners, commercial, art and private clients, and care and social welfare insurance.
Established over 25 years ago, the company has grow rapidly, employing seven new members of staff in the last six months.
