Richmond Golf Club celebrated its annual drive off on Sunday to celebrate the club’s new captains.
The drive off, which entails all the captains driving down the first fairway, was witnessed by many of the club members, who then joined the new captains for a round on the course and a welcome drink in the bar.
Albert Nowicki, gents captain for 2023, said: “My charity for the year is to raise funds to further improve the facilities at the golf club, including provision of new tee board signage.
“I want to ensure that members and visitors alike have a great golfing experience at Richmond.”
Both the ladies and the gents captains can choose a charity to support throughout the year and are set on growing and developing all areas of the club to attract more visitors to their course.
Sue Stocks, lady captain for 2023, added: “My chosen charity this year is Marrick Priory Outdoor Centre.
“My aim, with the support of the ladies section, is to raise money to enable children, regardless of their family circumstances, to attend courses in the heart of beautiful Swaledale, where they can have fun and be challenged in a safe and nurturing environment.”
