A Richmond businessman is hoping for a warm reception for his new company supplying and fitting stoves.
Castle View Fireplaces will open on the Gallowfields Industrial Estate in Richmond on Saturday.
The business has been launched by Richmond resident Lee Coward, who until recently was the commercial director of a private health care company.
Lee, a qualified plumber, hopes he has spotted a gap in the market and says the feedback he has received so has been very positive.
“At the moment people wanting a new stove have to travel to Northallerton or Darlington but we want to change that.
“We’ve had people say that people in Richmondshire won’t buy modern stoves but we think these will go in any type of house and will suit anyone who is looking for a quality stove.
“We’ve had a lot of people showing an interest and looking through the windows as we were getting ready to open.”
The firm is the only supplier in the region of products made by Norwegian company Rais, which specialises in contemporary, high-quality stoves.
Lee said the Rais stoves, which can burn solid fuel or gas, were built to be as efficient as possible, making them as environmentally friendly as possible and cheap to run. He added that the stoves were future-proofed to ensure they met any future emissions laws rules.
They could also be customised with a choice of handles and accessories.
Lee plans to expand the range shortly with patio heaters, fire pits, garden furniture and more traditional stoves, with the showroom set to increase in size when he takes on the next door unit.
Castle View Fireplaces will hold an open day on Saturday. Everyone is welcome to attend.
