The Sweet Stop has opened at The Station in Richmond.
The Sweet Stop is the latest venture of RBPT Enterprises – the trading arm of the charity who owns and operates The Station; Richmondshire Building Preservation Trust.
The shop is managed by Emma and Gareth Bottomley, the husband and wife team behind the award-winning Station Café | Bar.
Aimed to be modern take on a traditional sweet shop experience, The Sweet Stop has been furbished by the couple to suit its home in the former Victorian railway station.
Visitors can enjoy a trip down memory lane with bags of sweets served in traditional quarters or ‘quarts’, as well as bars of chocolate and truffles.
Emma said: “We have loved welcoming visitors to The Sweet Stop since we opened our doors in December – the feedback we have had has been fantastic.
“We’ve been running The Station Café | Bar for the last five years, which has gone from strength to strength, and is one of the main reasons people visit The Station.
“When the retail unit became available, we jumped at the chance to expand what we do here, taking on a new challenge and branching out with The Sweet Stop.
“If you haven’t visited us yet you are in for a treat – we’ve got lots of fabulous treats in store, with jars full to the brim with all types of sweets, including dolly mixtures, mint imperials, rhubarb and custard, teacakes, bonbons, and lots of types of liquorice.
“We’ve also got an extensive range of vegan sweets and speciality chocolates, and bags of luxury hot chocolate which are proving very popular.”
The Sweet Stop can be found on The Platform, at The Station, in Richmond, North Yorkshire.
The shop is open Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm, and throughout February they will be opening their doors on Fridays from 10am to 6pm.
