New tenant takes over community pub in Skeeby

A new tenant has taken over the lease at the community-owned Travellers Rest pub in Skeeby.

Nicola Townsend, former manager at the Tan Hill Inn, has taken on the tenancy.

It has recently run on a temporary basis by a team of committee members, from owners Skeeby Community Pub Society (SCPS).

This move came after the departure of the previous tenant.

SCPS said in a message to members: “(We) would like to take this opportunity to thank Chris, Cerian, Ali and Jen for all their hard work over the past six months, for keeping the doors open, and putting on some fantastic events during their time as tenants.”

The message added: “Nicola will be joined by Ryan Lockwood, an experienced chef with a passion for high quality seasonal food.

“Ryan has worked in high end spa hotels and large restaurants both in the UK and Europe, and managed large teams of chefs. The existing staff will also join Nicola’s team.”
