Richmond Town FC are launching a new women’s football team.
Training sessions have started for the team women and girls aged over 16 are welcome to attend.
The team is coached by FA level two coach Pete Wheeler.
He said: “I’m excited to see the women’s team develop and go from strength to strength over the next season, it has been a process of planning and making sure the interest is there, which saw us start our women’s social football.
“This took off massively, and each week has gone from strength to strength allowing us to now work towards a competitive women’s side, the first under Richmond Town FC.
“Whilst still very much in the early stages, I’m hopeful that we will be a huge success, increasing the women’s competition in the area and making sure as many females as possible enjoy their game.
“For any organisations wishing to sponsor the ladies with team kit and training wear for their first season, it would be gratefully received.”
The team trains at Richmond School on Tuesdays from 8pm to 9pm
