The volunteers who run a Richmond food bank have thanked the community for their generosity following a successful appeal for supplies.

StoreHouse, based at the Influence Church in Richmond, launched a noodle doodle competition earlier this year to help replenish stocks of noodles after Christmas.

Children in the town were encouraged to colour in a picture of some noodles and submit their competition entry with some noodles.

The winner was selected by Richmond mayor Stuart Parsons.

Suz Gregory, from the StoreHouse, said the competition had been very successful and had helped restock the food bank with noodles.

She added: “The people of Richmond and surrounding areas have been very generous and given us more noodles than we asked for which was amazing.”

The winning entry.

The winner got a chocolate hamper while all other entrants got a small prize which can be collected from the Influence Church on Thursday.
