Nursery children to raise money for Great North Air Ambulance

A farm-based children’s nursery is hoping people will put their best feet forward when they stage the first fundraising event in aid of their charity of the year.

High Bank Day Nursery in Stapleton, near Darlington has chosen the Great North Air Ambulance Service as its charity of the year.

The first event, a sponsored walk, will take place at 10am on Sunday 18th March.

The walk, of just over five miles, will take place around Richmond, starting and finishing at the car park near Richmond Caravan Park on Reeth Road.

High Bank Day Nursery Manager Hayley Grainger said: “We are excited about staging our first fundraising event and are looking forward to the walk.

“Anyone is welcome to take part, all we ask is that people make a small donation, via our Just Giving page, to the Great North Air Ambulance Service.

“It is a fantastic charity which rescues hundreds of severely injured or ill people each year, so every penny we can raise will make a big difference.”

People who would like to take part in the walk must contact Hayley in advance on 01325 365885 or email Suitable footwear and clothing will be needed.
