Nursery staff camp out during Storm Arwen for charity

Nursery staff have raised more than £3,000 after camping out during Storm Arwen.

Banana Moon Day Nursery staff took part in the Big Sleep Out challenge on Friday as gale force winds hit the country.

Staff camped in a shelter beside the nursery at Colburn Business Park from 7pm to 7am.

They managed to stay out all night.

“It was cold, windy and extremely wet but we are proud to have achieved this and gain more of an understanding of our homeless community,” a staff member said.

The nursery is raising money for Combat Stress, which helps veterans suffering from mental health problems, as well as the local homeless community.

As well as the camp out they took part in a staff abseiling session at Brimham Rocks.

In total, they have so far raised £3,445.
