October loyalty card promotion to be launched in Richmond

Shoppers are being encouraged to shop local in Richmond this October, with £100 worth of vouchers up for grabs.

The Original Richmond Business and Tourism Association  (RBTA) launches its loyalty card promotion tomorrow.

This promotion ran successfully for the first-time last year and this year it returns with a first prize for a lucky shopper of £100 worth of vouchers to spend in an Original Richmond Business and Tourism Association shop.

When shopping in an RBTA business, customers will be offered a loyalty card which when completed with six Original Richmond stickers, will be entered into a prize draw

There is no limit to the number of cards that can be entered by an individual, but the stickers must come from six different RBTA businesses.

To find out which businesses are participating in the scheme, shoppers are encouraged to look for the RBTA posters around the town or visit www.originalrichmond.co.uk to find RBTA member businesses.

There are around 90 members of the association in and around Richmond.

All the completed entries will go into a draw, with prizes for five lucky winners – First Prize – £100 worth of vouchers to use in any RBTA member’s business; Second Prize – Hamper of goodies from the Station businesses worth £80 plus 5 further prizes of Swim Cards for 10 swims at Richmond Swimming Pool – Adult card worth £36.80 and Under-18 card worth £24.80 and 3 Hampers from Mad Hatter Tea value £25, £18 and £15.

Businesses taking part include members Saks Hairdressers at Sedbury Hall near Scotch Corner; Ginger Tree Beauty at Aske Stables; Roots and Shoots, Estate Café, Oliviers Furniture and Arthur Caygill Cycles on Gallowfields Trading Estate; the Station Shop and businesses in and around Richmond Town Centre.

Marcia McLuckie, chair of The Richmond Business and Tourism Association said, “The Loyalty Card promotion is designed to encourage people to use the businesses that are in the Richmond Business and Tourism Association.

“Membership has grown significantly since last October meaning there are many more businesses where shoppers can use their cards.”

The loyalty card promotion starts on Thursday abd runs throughout the month.

Closing date for entries is Friday 9 November and winners will be notified Friday 30 November.

Richmond has been shortlisted for the Great British High Street Champion Award category and the judges will be visiting the town on Wednesday, October 17.
