Rescue volunteers were called out yesterday to rescue an injured off-road biker.

Members of Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team were asked to help by Yorkshire Ambulance Service.

A motocross rider had come off his bike in a steep gully near Langthwaite in Arkengarthdale.

The location was four miles from the road.

Yorkshire Air Ambulance also attended.

The rider was less injured than first thought and was walked to the helicopter before being transferred to the road ambulance.
