An appeal has gone out for old photos and memorabilia from the racing industry in Middleham.
The items will be used for a reminiscence group being launched in the town.
It is hoped they will also go on display in a permanent exhibition in a new Racing Welfare facility being built in the town.
This story continues after the adverts:
The appeal has been issued by Gail Burton-Pye, welfare officer at the Middleham branch of Racing Welfare.
She said: “Racing has been in Middleham for many many years and there is so much history here I feel that it is important to showcase it.
“My aim is to have a room in the new racing facility in Middleham dedicated to old Middleham and racing and fill it with old photos and memorabilia so that the history is not forgotten and open it to the public as well as hold monthly reminiscence groups there.
“Reminiscence groups help with tackling dementia, depression and loneliness as well as capturing and archiving events.”
Gail is sourcing photos from a retiree group she runs, however she says needs lots more items.
