Old photographs from the Dales feature in Tennants exhibition

Leyburn Fair in 1963.

A new exhibition featuring old photographs of the Dales has opened at the Garden Rooms at Tennants in Leyburn.

Residents of the Dales and beyond have contributed photographs from the 1940s to 1990s, capturing snapshots of Dales life throughout the decades.

The photos rang from 1950s aerial views of towns and villages to fairs, shows and farming life predominantly around Wensleydale.

The exhibition also includes a display of photographs from Tennants Auctioneers’ own history.

The free exhibition is open daily until February 12.

All the photographs have been enlarged for ease of viewing.
