Businesses across Richmond and the surrounding area have just one week left to enter this year’s Richmond Business Awards.
Organised by the Original Richmond Business and Tourism Association (ORBTA) in collaboration with The Company of Mercers, Grocers and Haberdashers of Richmond, Yorkshire and North Yorkshire Council, the awards celebrate the contribution local firms make to the community.
The awards are free to enter and open to any business or organisation that is a member of ORBTA or trades within the DL10 postcode area, whether a member or not. Businesses may enter themselves and also nominate others, while members of the public are invited to put forward their choices.
Winners will be announced at a ceremony in April, where the awards will be presented by David Skaith, Mayor of York and North Yorkshire.
There are 15 categories, covering everything from customer focus and innovation to tourism, accessibility and environmental impact. Among the awards are Best Employer, Best New Business, Best Sole Trader, Best Dog Friendly Business and The Dennis Graves Award for Young Person of the Year.
The judging panel will also select an overall winner from the category champions to receive the prestigious David Doorbar Award for Excellence.
Russell Lord, Freeman of The Mercers, Grocers and Haberdashers of Richmond (Yorkshire), said: “We are delighted to be involved with Richmond’s Business Awards 2026. The Company is proud to work alongside the Original Richmond Business and Tourism Association and North Yorkshire Council to recognise the contribution that business makes to our local community.
