Online Artisan coffee, tea and health food business launches in Hawes

A new online Artisan coffee, tea and health food business has been launched in Hawes.

The Alchemist’s Cottage sell a large range of loose leaf teas and hand roasted coffees.

The company also sell single origin drinking chocolate and dairy and soya free chocolate bars, as well as a range of health foods from super powders to apricot kernels.

The business was started by Catherine Eastham, who has a culinary background, and her business partner Lee Phillips, who works abroad.

Catherine said: “We both desire high quality affordable teas and coffees, but in the Wensleydale area it is hard to find fresh coffee beans that can be ground on request and also a good loose tea selection. There just isn’t anywhere locally that does this.

“We also care about the environment and therefore have looked at products that we can all use that are not make of plastic like for example our toothbrushes and our shampoo bars.

“A lot of our packaging is compostable and recyclable. Lee is also currently studying a herbal medicine course which has inspired him to open the apothecary section where herbs can be used to help various conditions.

“I suffer from many intolerances and find it hard to find products that I can have, hence our health food section.”

The company also stock no more plastic goods such as bamboo cutlery and shampoo bars.

Catherine says all products come packaged in compostable materials and the postage packaging is all recyclable.

They supply personal and well as business customers, and samples available.
