An open day planned for this weekend for the new community shed in Leyburn has been cancelled due to the weather forecast.
The event was due to take place at Leyburn Arts and Community Centre tomorrow.
The venue said in a statement: “The weather forecasts (all four of them) look bad, and as we have no alternative indoor space to use, we’ve had no choice but to call it off.
“We hope to reschedule for the next available Saturday when the building is not in use – so that will probably be at half-term, provisionally November 4.
“Apologies for the short notice, but we’ve been hoping for better weather all week and it just doesn’t appear to be coming.”
The summer community shed draw will still go ahead as planned for 2.30pm and will be held in the café at the community centre.
Organisers say winners will be notified as soon as possible.
