Open gardens and scarecrow trail in Bellerby

Visitors to Bellerby will be able to get some garden therapy at the village open gardens and scarecrow trail day later this month.

The event will be held on Sunday, July 9  from 10.30am to 4pm.

Visitors can enjoy hidden village gardens and fantastic scarecrows, jazz in the afternoon from The Old Glory Jazz Band, and refreshments in the Memorial Hall where there is an outdoor children’s play area.

There will also be plants stall, herb and oils sales and table-top sales throughout the village.

“We are expecting around 15-20 gardens to be open this year,” said Open Gardens organiser Denise Morley.

“There should also be a bumper crop of scarecrows including a special camp of crazy characters set up by our local cubs.”

Admission is £4 each for adults. Children under 16 go free and there is free off-road parking.

Proceeds will be shared between local community projects.
