Operatic society chair to shave head for foodbank charity

John Holliday.

The chairman of Richmond Operatic Society (ROS) will have his head shaved for a local food bank today.

John Holliday set a target of raising £300 for the StoreHouse at the Influence Church in Richmond.

He pledged that once the target had been met, he would shave his hair off.

More than £320 has now been donated and John will shave his head at 6pm this evening.

He said: “Many people are going to be in desperate needs over the coming months.

“As chairman of ROS and sales manager of Ropers Caravans, and someone who loves my home town, I want to do something to help.

“I love my thick grey hair but as soon as I reach my target I will shave the lot off personally with a live video and then donate the proceeds in food and supplies which are desperately needed by our local foodbank.”

You can watch the shave at the ROS Facebook page here.
