Owner appeals for information after cat shot

A cat owner has appealed for information after her cat was shot.

It is believed Evie was shot with an air rifle.

The incident happened in Middleton Tyas on Saturday or early Sunday morning.

Owner Martina Poole is facing a huge vet bill following the incident.

She said: “Evie went out on Saturday morning and returned Sunday morning wounded.

“I took her to the vets who told me that she has been shot.

“Her bone in her front leg is shattered and severe muscle damage with a bad infection.

“Her leg will have to be amputated and we hope that she will make a full recovery. Unfortunately I don’t have insurance, so will have to pay for the £900 vet bill myself.”

The incident has been reported to police.

Anyone with information should call North Yorkshire Police on 101.
