Oxygen given to pet dog after house fire

Oxygen is administered to pet dog Fern.

A pet dog needed oxygen after a house fire today.

Fire crews were called to a cooker on fire in Aldbrough St John near Richmond at 8.05am this morning.

Appliance from Richmond and Darlington attended this incident.

They extinguished a fire in the kitchen using breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera.

They then administered oxygen to pet dog Fern.

The specially designed pet oxygen mask used was supplied by not-for-profit company Smokey Paws.
