Parent to walk Hadrian’s Wall to raise money for village school

The current trim trail.

A parent is planning to walk Hadrian’s Wall to raise money for a new trim trail at his son’s primary school.

Steven Lowton will take on the 73-mile challenge from June 2 to 6 with friend Alistair Greenough in aid of Barton Primary School.

Hi aims to raise £9,000 for the equipment.

Steven said: “My little boy attends the local village primary school, a school with only 37 children and very little funding.

“The school is in urgent need of a new trim trail climbing frame for the children’s fun and physical development.

“The old trim trail will soon be condemned and removed.

“The children are extremely upset and need a trim trail and climbing frame to help them develop and play.”

Steven has recently retired after 37 years of military and public service as a police officer.
