A farm-based children’s nursery in Richmondshire has received perfect 10 reviews from parents.

High Bank Day Nursery in Stapleton, near Darlington, has been included in the top 20 awards ran by the UK’s leading nursery review website www.daynurseries.co.uk.

Reviews from parents are used to decide the awards and in the last 12 months, High Bank, which is rated as ‘outstanding’ by its regulator Ofsted, achieved a perfect 10 out of 10.

Parents are asked to rate a range of features, including overall standard of the nursery, its facilities, resources, learning, activities, food/nutrition and care.

Among those who left reviews which counted towards this year’s rating include Kaye Wedge, whose child Nancy attends the nursery.

She said: “Whether it’s the healthy nutritious food or kind and caring staff, I feel so comfortable when my daughter is at the nursery.

Lucy Armstrong’s daughter Lottie also attends the nursery, she said: “Every day is full of activities, which includes wandering around the farm to see the animals.

“The updates and pictures you get sent are great and help you feel reassured as a parent.”

Nursery Manager Hayley Grainger said: “We are thrilled to have been named as one of the top 20 nurseries in the North East of England for the second year in a row.

“As the award is solely dependent on the reviews of parents, we have to ensure we meet and exceed their expectations, so to achieve a perfect 10 out of 10 rating is incredible.

“We receive fantastic support from parents, but it’s also important to thank the staff who go the extra mile to ensure we remain an outstanding nursery.”
