Tracing Parish Boundaries will be the subject of the next talk hosted by Middleham and the Dales Local History Group.
The talk by Tony Keates will take place at Middleham Key Centre on Tuesday, November 21 at 2pm.
The talk will look at the origins of parishes and how their boundaries were marked and recorded.
Using Melmerby Parish as an example, Tony will demonstrate how to trace boundaries and to follow them on them on the ground.
Based in Coverdale, Tony is the secretary of Middleham and the Dales Local History Society.
Members, new members and visitors are always welcome, annual membership is £12 for 9 meetings and visitors can attend for £3 per meeting.
