A parking warden who was parked on a double yellow line while giving a ticket hasn’t impressed local motorists.
A photo of the incident in Hawes was posted online this week.
The parking warden can be seen apparently about to give a ticket to a vehicle for parking over a dropped kerb.
His colleague is sat in their vehicle while it is parked on a double yellow.
One social media user said it was a classic case of “do as I say, not as I do”.
Barrie Mason, the authority’s assistant director of highways and transformation, said: “Whilst parking services vehicles are exempt from traffic regulation orders to carry out certain types of inspection work when there is no alternative, it is not our policy for such vehicles to park on waiting or stopping restricted areas while issuing penalty notices.
“We take this matter seriously and have spoken to the individuals involved in this instance.”
