PCSO receives commendation for work on community messaging service

A PCSO Richmondshire Neighbourhood Policing Team has been presented with a commendation by Chief Constable Lisa Winward.

PCSO Elliot Brown was put forward for the commendation by Inspector Martin Metcalfe for his hard work and commitment shown in signing up the residents of Richmondshire to the North Yorkshire Community Messaging Service.

The officer has signed up thousands of people to the service and completed surveys with them to find out what their local priorities and concerns are.

Inspector Metcalfe said: “Elliot is a real inspiration to his team and North Yorkshire Police colleagues.

“He has worked tirelessly to link in with the Richmondshire community and sign them up to the Community Messaging Service.

“This service is so important and provides us with new ways to keep in touch with the residents of Richmondshire.

“The information provided to us by residents using this service has so far been invaluable.

“Please sign up and help us focus on your local priorities, it really does make a difference.”

The service enables police to connect with communities and inform them of crime trends, appeal for information on missing people and publicise local engagement.
