Pedestrian dies after collision involving HGV at Aysgarth Falls

A pedestrian has died after a collision involving a HGV at Aysgarth Falls.

The emergency services were called to Church Bank just after 12.30pm today.

North Yorkshire Police said a male pedestrian had been involved in a collision with a HGV close to the Mill Race Tea Shop.

An ambulance attended but the pedestrian was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.

The road is currently closed.

Police, firefighters and ambulance crews were called to the scene this morning.

  1. heavy goods vehicles taking scenic short cuts across the Dales should be fined / taxed or set on fire. They destroy the road surface and should compensate the local residents for squeezing their massive bulk and toxicity along narrow a roads through small villages.
