Supercars, trikes and tractors transported Year 11 students in considerable style to Richmond School and Sixth Form College for an evening of celebration.
The school hall was transformed into a glittering ballroom as the teenagers celebrated the end of their schooldays and contemplated the next era of their education.
Richmond School and Sixth Form College head teacher Jenna Potter said: “The Year 11 leavers’ ball has become a popular occasion in the town and I’m delighted so many people again turned out to enjoy the spectacle.
“Students go to extraordinary lengths to make the ball memorable and we saw some fantastic vehicles dropping them off, anything from a huge tractor to an Aston Martin. The efforts they’d made with their dresses and suits were clear to see.
“The event is a bitter-sweet moment for us as we are so proud of how the students have matured over their first five years with us, but, inevitably, we will be saying farewell to some of them. However, I am very much looking forward to working again with a large number of them who are staying on with us into sixth form.”
