Richmond School held its annual tear 11 prom last Friday at school, with guests arriving in a wide range of vehicles including emergency vehicles, tractors, diggers, buggies and bikes.

The theme was A Night at the Oscars and the school hall was dressed by local event organisers, Already Sorted.

Students were definitely wowed by the transformation of the venue from the school hall to a glitzy, glamorous, red carpet event.

Teachers and support staff came together to organise the food and entertainment for the students.

Staff also showed their appreciation by nominating students for some special awards.

The winners were chosen by head of year, Mrs Weston. They were:

  • Luca Petch for Teamwork and Excellence
  • Kieron Hawes for Respect and Teamwork
  • Philippa Kind for Excellence and Creativity
  • Kirsty Tarran for Determination and Independence

Students also voted for their favourite teachers and they too were awarded some mini-Oscars.

Mrs Weston said: “The prom was a wonderful celebration of the end of the GCSE exams. The Year 11s are a magnificent year group and it has been an honour and a privilege to work with them over the last two years.

“I am looking forward to seeing everyone again on GCSE results day on Thursday 24th August and of course, we will be welcoming many of them back in September as they begin the next phase of their education at Richmond Sixth Form College.”
