Plans have been announced for a new Post Office in a Wensleydale village.
The branch would operate from Aysgarth Garage and would be open 9am to 1pm, Monday to Saturday.
A consultation has been launched which runs until October 10.
The move follows the recent closure of the branch in nearby Thoralby.
Ian Murphy, Post Office network provision lead, said: “The service will be one of our local style branches with a low-screened, open-plan Post Office service point carefully integrated into the retail counter.
“Customers will be able to carry out a wide range of Post Office transactions alongside retail purchases.
“The new service will offer long opening hours, with the Post Office opening hours in line with the retail business.”

Very good news indeed. Hopefully we will also be able to withdraw cash from the post office. Nearest ATM either Hawes or Leyburn.
