Plans for houses on Colburn Business Park revealed

A consultation on plans to build houses on Colburn Business Park has been launched.

Dozens of homes are proposed for land at the southern edge of the park.

Homes and businesses in the area have received details of the consultation event due to take place at Colburn Leisure Centre between 4pm and 7pm on November 23.

This story continues after the adverts:

The plans is for houses on land of Chartermark Way, Colburn.

At last month’s meeting of Colburn Town Council the prospect of homes on the land was discussed.

Among those who raised concerns were the owners of businesses on Colburn Business Park who were worried any new housing development would limit their ability to expand.

One business owner said they had already decided to move part of their business elsewhere after housing developers had demanded restrictive conditions on their expansion plans.

At the meeting councillors said they wanted the land to remain designated as land for employment rather than housing.

The consultation event, organised by planning consultants Johnson Mowat, is described as “an opportunity to view plans and discuss the proposals with members of the development team”.
