Plans submitted for three houses on Richmond pub car park

The houses would be built on a part of the Holly Hill Inn pub car park.

Plans have been submitted for three new houses on a pub car park in Richmond.

The two three-bedroom and one two-bedroom properties are proposed to be built on part of the car park at the Holly Hill Inn.

Land behind the car park would also be used as part of the development to provide parking for the new houses and to extend the pub car park.

A supporting report submitted with the application states: “The site has been designed to accommodate 6no. car parking spaces for the new dwellings at a rate of 2 per household, which is considered adequate in this location.

“The remodelled car park for the Holly Hill Inn will benefit from an additional 6 car parking spaces in a much more regularised layout improving safety and amenity.”

It concludes: “This proposed scheme has been developed in response to the site opportunities and constraints and to be a good fit with the surrounding area.

“The proposed development will provide much needed housing choice and supply in central Richmondshire.”
