Play parks run by Richmondshire District Council will reopen later this week.

The authority’s grounds maintenance service is currently completing inspections of the 23 play parks to make sure they are safe.

Social distance information will be on display at each site advising visitors to observe social distancing, stay alert and wash hands as soon as possible after use.

“We are inspecting all our facilities this week prior to opening and may need to remove some items – such as swing seats – to ensure social distancing can be maintained,” said corporate director, Colin Dales.

“User safety is paramount and we hope users will respect the facilities and adhere to social distancing.”
