Police are appealing for witnesses following a burglary at the Co-op on Broadway in Colburn, Catterick Garrison.
It happened early yesterday evening (Tuesday).
Officers are also investigating reports of suspicious activity at a nearby disused premises around the same time.
Members of the public may have noticed an increased police presence in the area on Tuesday evening as officers responded to the incident.
Police say patrols will continue as enquiries are carried out.
