Police are appealing for information after a large generator weighing up to two tonnes was stolen from a farm near Richmond.
The theft happened between 11pm and midnight on Thursday, July 30, at a farm in Melsonby.
North Yorkshire Police say the suspects entered the farm through a gate on the road between Melsonby and Aldbrough St John before stealing the generator.
Officers believe a large vehicle must have been used to remove the generator, which is described as a Stephill Generators SSDP33 model with serial number 627963.
The suspects are believed to have left the farm through the same gate before heading towards either Aldbrough St John or Melsonby.
Police are asking anyone who saw the generator, or who has CCTV covering the roads around Melsonby or Aldbrough St John, to come forward.
