Police appeal after hit-and-run collision in Catterick Garrison

Police are appealing for information following a collision in Catterick Garrison in which a parked car was damaged.

The incident happened at around 7.30pm on Thursday, 16 October 2025, outside Somme Garage on James Lane.

A green Vauxhall Corsa, which was parked at the location, was struck by another vehicle which failed to stop at the scene.

Officers have released an image of a farm vehicle they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries and are keen to identify its owner.

Anyone who recognises the vehicle, or who was driving it at the time, is asked to contact PC 1223 Colin Irvine by calling 101 and quoting reference 12250196179, or by emailing colin.irvine@northyorkshire.police.uk.

      I agree 100%! Some tractor-drivers bomb along with no heed for anyone else, including people on foot. It is very rare that any of them acknowledge drivers and pedestrians who move out of their way and most of them blithely drive past places where they could pull in to allow other traffic to pass. (I say this a member of a farming family,)
