Police appeal after hit-and-run collision near Richmond

Police are trying to trace the driver of a damaged red Fiesta that failed to stop after a collision

The incident happened at about 3.30pm on Friday 26 at the top of Waitwith Bank, near Richmond.

Police say it involved a white van and a red Ford Fiesta travelling from Waitwith Road towards the junction at Half Penny House.

The collision caused the van to be knocked off the road and into the grass verge, almost hitting a tree.

The Fiesta did not stop at the scene.

It will have suffered significant damage as a result of the collision.

There were no reports of any injuries.

A police spokesperson said: “If you were in the area at the time of the collision and saw anything, or have any relevant dashcam footage, please come forward.

“Please also get in touch if you are aware of a red Ford Fiesta which has suffered damage.”
