Police appeal after report of males fighting in Richmond

Police have appealed for information after reports of a fight involving ten to 15 people in Richmond.

North Yorkshire Police said they received a report of anti-social behaviour and violence involving a group of males near the Station Yard in Richmond at 8.30pm on Wednesday.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “Officers were dispatched however the group had dispersed by the time police arrived.

“Enquiries were carried out in the area, but no arrests were made.”

A witness said: “I was one of the people who called 999 as I was witness to it while out for a walk.

“There were four police vans and eight police offers all down different parts of the river trying to catch the group that had wondered off upon hearing the police.

“At least two males had blood coming from their head or face area. The people involved looked around 16 to 22.”
