Police appeal after sheep worrying in Wensleydale

Police are appealing for information about a sheep worrying incident that occurred near Leyburn.

It happened in a field next to the traffic light controlled bridge on the A684 at Spennithorne, at around 11am on Saturday and involved a ram being chased and injured by two terrier type dogs.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

“In particular, we are appealing for information about two males who were seen leaving on foot with the dogs.”
