Various DeWalt power tools were stolen from a farm in the Melsonby area.
The burglary took place between midnight on Thursday and 12.45am yesterday.
A police spokesperson said: “If you live in there area, did you see or hear anything suspicious during the night that may help us locate the suspects and tools?
“Do you have any CCTV that may have captured anyone relating to the incident?
“We also are encouraging you to ensure your vehicles, houses and outbuildings are locked and secure.
“If you have CCTV make sure it is in working order, and if you have outbuildings try to ensure they are well lit or have motion activated lights to act as a deterrent.”
