Police appeal after Wensleydale burglaries

Police are appealing for witnesses and information about two burglaries in West Witton.

The first happened on Chantry Garth between March 4 and 7.

The thieves smashed the rear window of the property, before performing an untidy search, taking some jewellery and exiting the property.

The second burglary happened The Wensleydale Heifer Hotel on Main Street overnight between March 15 and 16.

Someone entered the premises and took the cash safe, staff tips and till float, before leaving.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incidents.

“In particular, we are appealing for information about any suspicious vehicles or circumstances between the key times.”
