Police are urging residents to call them immediately if they see doorstep sellers following reports of two men visiting homes today.
The men were calling on residents in Leyburn, Middleham and elsewhere in the lower Dales area.
North Yorkshire Police say the men do not have an up-to-date pedlars’ licence.

Police have urged anyone who sees the men and anything else suspect vehicles to call 101 immediately.
