Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a crash in Leyburn last week.
North Yorkshire Police say they were contacted at 9.50pm on Friday regarding a collision between a black Vauxhall Astra and some railings in High Street, Leyburn.
The car had then gone on to collide with the window of a shop – Victoria’s Lingerie – and come to rest on its side.
The road was blocked until 11.05pm when the car was recovered and scene cleared.
The driver was uninjured, however he made off from the scene.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: “Officers are conducting enquiries to determine the circumstances around the incident and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who has information which would assist the investigation to contact them.”
Victoria’s Lingerie has remained open despite the damage to its window.
