Police appeal after spate of crimes in Wensleydale

Police are appealing for information after a spate of crimes in Wensleydale.

The incidents include theft and vandalism.

On Wednesday night the rear window of a Rover 25 was smashed in Woodburn Drive, Leyburn.

On the same night two orange trees were stolen from outside Humble Pie cafe and deli in Askrigg.

Then on Thursday night a Stump Jumper Expert mountain bike and a Whyte 802 mountain bike were stolen from a bike rack in Bainbridge.

Also on Thursday night a grey VW Polo parked in Wensleydale Avenue, Leyburn, was deliberately scratched.

Earlier in the month between July 5 and 6 a number of valuable lead plant containers were stolen from a garden in East Witton Road, Middleham.

Between July 6 and 8 a Krupp breaker from an excavator was stolen from a barn conversion building site in Moor Road, Leyburn.
